Carbon Grant Fund
Unlocking access to global climate funding for community driven initiatives
Democrotizing access to the global carbon markets and climate funding
At the Carbon Grant Fund, we believe that our Pan-African community-based green businesses should have equal access to the global climate funding. Unlocking growth capital for community SMME’s that are currently absorbing, reducing or avoiding greenhouse gasses is key to tackling the climate crisis. This flow of funding can also achieve greater impact at the same time through the increase in job creation, gender equality with the funding and prioritising of female owned SMME’s, improved livelihoods, access to cleaner energies and services and the reduction of inequalities.
Over 90% of greenhouse gasses are emitted by Global North and the effects felt in our most vulnerable communities in Africa
The climate crisis is created globally and felt locally in our most vulnerable communities in Africa. Fighting the climate crisis takes a cumulative effort but our communities are not being equipped with the tools, funding and support to be recognized as active members in the fight. The Carbon Grant Fund unlocks access to sources of global climate funding for primarily women-founded, community-based green SMME’s.
Join us in democratising access the the climate grant opportunities, Voluntary Carbon Markets and climate investments to activate the flow of funding into the communities and SMME's that are most effected but the climate crisis.
Investing in climate with greater impact
Our communities are driving solutions but are not benefiting from global sources of funding nor being equipped with the tools and support to be recognized as active members in the fight
Voluntary carbon market case study
Equal access to carbon carbon markets and climate funding for community driven climate initiatives
Accessing the VCM’s often takes time, skills and financial resources to understand and open up this opportunity as an avenue and source of funding. This results in exclusionary access to the voluntary markets for the businesses and communities that are often the hardest effected by the climate crisis.
Invest carbon offsets into the communities that are most effected by the climate crisis!
The Carbon Grant Fund matches corporation demand for carbon offsets to community-based green businesses and measures, captures and certifies the tons of offset carbon on behalf of the SMME opening up and facilitating the flows of voluntary market funding.
Global demand for corporates to access voluntary markets for carbon offsets
Matched to a pooled consortium of green based community SMME’s capturing and verifying their absorbed, avoided or reduced carbon efforts
Providing corporations with verified offsets whilst increasing flows of funding into the communities hardest effected by the climate crisis
Climate skills and knowledge benefit all SMME’s
Equipping our communities with the tools for positive climate impact and circular operations
The Climate Crisis needs a cumulative effort to fight and meet our SDG Goals. While hyper focused climate solutions make a big effort to get us there, we need a more inclusive model to meet these goals as a community.
Supporting skills development of community based small medium and micro entrepreneur's think with a climate lens and operate with a circular business model provides the platform for growth and increased efficiencies while improving the climate impact. Having the skills to operate as a climate business and service a traditional market brings both the SMME and the consumer as active members into the fights against the climate crisis.
